Stacy is a doctoral candidate in the Learning Sciences and Policy program at the University of Pittsburgh. Broadly speaking, her research examines the impact of institutional practices and social resources on access to learning opportunities and learning outcomes. For her dissertation, she is implementing a mixed-methods study design to examine the impact of a college success initiative on the persistence outcomes of low-income, first generation students.
Stacy conducts her work under the training and guidance of Dr. Jennifer Russell, her faculty advisor, and Dr. Lindsay Page. Her work is informed by organizational and systems theory, sociology of education, and the learning sciences. She has received training in advanced qualitative and quantitative statistical methods, social network analysis methods, and geographic information systems. She is committed to conducting rigorous research that can effectively inform the design of equitable educational systems.
Stacy was born and rasied in Pittsburgh and lived in New York City for 9 years. She received her BA from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, and worked in the New York City public school system as a college advisor and director of a college-readiness program model.
